It’s already been a huge year for Missy, who in January became the very first female hip hop artist to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame praised Missy for her ‘inventive songwriting and production work’, describing her as being ‘one of the most significant female artists in contemporary music history’.
A five-time Grammy Award winner, Missy has also earned huge commercial success, with US sales exceeding 30 million. Her debut album Supa Dupa Fly was released in 1997, firmly establishing her as a unique and innovative creative talent.
In the years since, she’s continued to develop her distinctive voice, providing inspiration for countless female hip hop fans. No doubt her latest project will show the same ingenious ear for detail.
Fans have reacted with great enthusiasm to the news, viewing it as an exciting new chapter in Missy’s oeuvre.
