In 2002 the world changed and changed utterly when one of the greatest lyrical masterpieces was released and played at early teen birthday parties across the globe. That song was Dilemma.

But what makes Nelly’s musical cacophony just so brilliant? To me it’s the fact that it makes you question things. It makes you question life, love, and happiness – but the biggest question posed by Dilemma is why the fuck is Kelly Rowland using Microsoft Excel to send him a text.

If Descartes was alive today that would be the question he would be seeking to answer but fortunately Nelly has answered that question himself – 14 years late however, according to the Daily Mail.

So why was the former Destiny’s Child singer using Excel (ironically a device which you cannot use to send messages) to write ‘Where you at? Holla when you get this?’

According to a clearly embarrassed Nelly, Excel was simply just the big kahuna back then.

He revealed to Channel 10:

That was the thing at the time. That was the new technology at the time. It looks a little dated now, I can see that.

Yes, Nelly of course it looks fucking dated – it looked dated in 2002.

As you can probably expect, and probably already know by now, the use of Excel in the video subsequently went viral in the world of memes.
