Nicki Minaj has responded to Cardi B, who allegedly threw a shoe at her during a heated exchange at a New York Fashion Week party.
The two rappers attended the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party lat week, September 7, where Cardi approached Nicki and her crew.
There have been various reports which debate Cardi’s initial intentions, but video evidence appears to show her throwing a shoe at Nicki.
Eyewitnesses described Cardi as ‘aggressively’ approaching Nicki, saying ‘let me tell you something’, before making a lunge for the singer. Security at the event apparently managed to stop Cardi before she got to Nicki.
However, people connected to the American rapper Cardi explained she didn’t approach Nicki with the intention of starting a fight, and wanted to ‘address the lies Nicki was spreading’.
The sources added they believed security had a plan if Cardi came near Minaj.
Not being able to get near to Nicki, Cardi then seemed to pull off her shoe and hurl it across the room towards the Anaconda star.
Since the strange confrontation Nicki appeared on Queen Radio yesterday, Monday, September 10, to address the situation.
She said, as per TMZ:
You put your hands on certain people you gonna die. PERIOD. And y’all sitting here making this s*** a joke? I’m not the b*tches in the strip club and I’m not a b*tch on a reality show. My money is very f***ing long.
Basically, Nicki is saying other people would have been far more aggressive towards Cardi after what went down at the Harper’s Bazaar party.
Nicki also added that she was dumbfounded by Cardi B’s actions, and insisted she never spoke poorly of Cardi’s daughter, Kulture, and clarified she would never disrespect anyone’s child or parenting skills.
Cardi had apparently wanted to confront Nicki to ‘address the lies Nick was spreading’ about her as a mother.
The Bodak Yellow rapper then went on to call out Nicki on social media, saying:
I’ve let a lot of sh*t slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f*ck up the way I eat.
You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f*ckin with them! I let you talk big sh*t about me!
I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!
Cardi, however, does not specify which comments Nicki made or what she is referring to, but did add:
But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f*ckin off.
I’ve worked to hard and come too far to let anybody f*ck with my success.
B*tches talk all that sh*t in they raps but in real life they p**sy. [sic]
Though some artists are calling time on their feuds, it seems this one is just getting started.
