It’s scary to think how long ago it was when the first adorable snaps of the tiny child that once was Hailie Mathers, Eminem’s daughter emerged and she looks very different now…
It’s been a good 15 years since Eminem first became a household name and was pictured clutching a young Hailie, but of course, time moves on and now she’s unrecognisable.
Well unrecognisable in the sense she has officially grown up and looks a far cry from the teeny tot once perched in her rapper dad’s arms, but she still definitely has the look of Marshall about her.
Scarily Hailie Scott Mathers is now 21-years-old and is busy studying psychology at Michigan State University, Digital Spy reports.
Throughout the nineties and noughties, Emimen’s daughter seemed to be the main focus of his music career and the subject of many of his songs.
In fact, Hailie had a mention in 2o of his tracks and even had the song ‘Hailie’ written about her – obviously – in which the rap artist celebrates how she saved him.
Clearly the family are a close knit bunch, as when she finished High School, she was crowned the homecoming queen and gave a speech gushing her parents were the ‘most influential during my lifetime.’
Eminem evidently has a lot of love for his daughter, which has been clear to see throughout his music career alone.
He said previously:
My daughter comes first no matter what.
If there’s important things going on in her life that I need to be there for, then I’ll drop what I’m doing.
Hailie has been my main source of drive, a motivation, especially when she was first born and I didn’t have a career, I didn’t have money, I didn’t have place to live, so I think that really kicked me in the arse harder than anything.
It’s crazy to think how different Hailie looks now – mostly because it seems like only yesterday she was being carried around in her dad’s arms.
Her Instagram followers are obviously having a hard time realising it too, with hundreds of comments on her pictures exclaiming their shock at her older appearance.
They probably should calm down though, as it was always going to happen, although it’s a bit of a shock when you first realise how fast time has gone by…
Scary stuff.
