A heckler was allegedly kicked out of a Pete Davidson stand-up gig after they made a joke about Mac Miller’s death.

Comedian Davidson was performing at the South Orange Performing Arts Center in South Orange, New Jersey, on Monday night (February 25) when a heckler in the audience angered him by making reference to Miller.

Rapper Miller is an ex-boyfriend of Ariana Grande like Davidson, and died of an accidental drug overdose in September last year.

A fellow audience member told Page Six Davidson set up a joke saying ‘so a funny thing happened to me recently in my apartment… my friend died of a heart attack’.

The source explained before Davidson could deliver the punchline, a heckler yelled out ‘Mac Miller’ leaving the comedian aghast.

Davidson reportedly stopped his routine, and asked security to remove the heckler from the audience.

The news outlet’s source said:

Pete calmly stops his routine and asks the audience to ID the dude that yelled out and that he is going to have to leave. He then asks security to locate the yeller and escort him out.

Davidson then allegedly told security to give the heckler a full refund sating ‘I don’t want his money’.

The witness added although the audience was ‘a bit bewildered’ at first by the turn of events, when they realised the comedian was being serious ‘they started pointing to where the yell came from’.

According to the source, Davidson told the audience he was being ‘serious’ saying:

I’m serious. I’m going to leave [the stage]. So if you want to hear the rest of the show, you’ll point out to security who yelled so they can escort him out.

If not, I’m going to leave right now. I’m not going to have any of that sh*t happening at my show.

Hearing Davidson, the audience pointed to the culprit who was escorted by security ‘without further drama’.

Following the heckler’s removal, the audience then applauded.

While Davidson at first told them to stop, saying ‘don’t applaud that a-hole’, he then encouraged it adding ‘Nah, go ahead, applaud, applaud security for getting him out, they do a great job’.

The whole incident lasted for five minutes.

Page Six understands the joke was about a friend who had passed out in Davidson’s apartment, with the comedian mistaking it for a heart attack.
