In the aftermath of legendary singer George Michael’s death, an inconclusive postmortem examination has led police to continue their investigation.

According to a Daily Star exclusive, Michael’s partner is being questioned by the police amid concerns the superstar’s death on Christmas Day was drugs-related.

Fadi Fawaz, a hairdresser, was in a relationship with 53-year-old Michael and will now undergo a police probe about the cause of his partner’s death.

The Daily Star‘s source said:

We’ve been told the police will be looking to speak to Fadi this week, either at his home or in Pangbourne Police Station.

They have given him a few days to grieve for his loss, but are now keen to try and find out what part, if any, drugs may have played in George’s death while the circumstances are still fresh in Fadi’s mind.

There’s a strong suspicion that this was drug related, so officers will be keen to ascertain who may have been supplying any drugs to George.

Thames Valley Police are yet to deny the claims that Fawaz, 40, will be interviewed.

George had police cautions for possession of crack cocaine and cannabis. He was also alleged to have taken GHB,  drug that has been blamed for fatalities across Britain.

There is no suggestion Fawaz, who found George’s body on Christmas Day, is involved in any wrongdoing or has any link to drugs.

This exclusive comes days after Fawaz released a string of emotional tweets claiming Michael ‘wanted to die’.

Twitter

They read:

Not sure who that nasty close friend of George but I was in relationship with George Micheal till I found him dead in bed.

The only thing George wanted is to DIE. He tried numbers of time to kill himself many times…And finally he managed…We loved each other very much and we were together almost 24 hours a day…

The tweets and the account from which they were sent have both since been deleted.
