Post Malone Has Cut His Hair Off

Post Malone is the rising ‘rockstar’ rapper that has everyone talking, but he might be better known for his many face tattoos, his seemingly never-ending bad luck and his close friendship with pal Justin Bieber.

Also, his dreadlocks. Ever since the rapper/singer rose to fame in 2015, he has been known for his unique style, in particular his long dreads.

But as of Friday (October 5), Post has been sporting a new look – entirely different from the one fans had come to know and love.

He posted a picture of his new clean cut do to Twitter, shocking fans across the globe who had become so accustomed to his usual, rockstar style.

The caption read:

had 2 big ass dreads. plz don’t stop listening to my music

Abrupt, as ever. He seems to be hinting at the fact that his fans may not appreciate the new look and is bracing himself for the backlash.

That said, he did not give any further details so fans have been left in the dark about who cut his hair or why he did so.

Fans were shocked, with one Twitter user saying:

Post Malone has been known for his controversial style choices in the past, in particular his many tattoos. He has had many interesting tatts in the past – one of the most controversial being the relatable ‘always tired’ tattoo under his eyes.

The Texas-based singer also has a string of barbed wire tattooed across the top of his forehead, and the words ‘stay away’ above one of his eyes. Better not get too close to his face, then.

Anyway, I digress. The point of this whole article was to talk about his newly cut hair, so I’ll cut straight to the point.

Despite him making relatively clear that he had cut his dreads off, fans were left wondering whether he had simply tied it up.

Understandable, right? Many a time have I tied my hair up behind my head in an attempt to trial a new, shorter hairstyle – one which I might not necessarily be brave enough to just dive right into.

So Post decided to clear things up once and for all on his Instagram account yesterday (October 7), posting a clearer picture of his new haircut.

Not to sound like a mum here, but I think the new look really suits him and you can actually see his face for once. (Ok, I’ll stop with the mum talk!)

Clearly, he can do no wrong. And it seems the rapper is only going from strength to strength. On a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Post previewed his new song for the upcoming Marvel film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack titled Sunflower.

Although the film isn’t being released until later this year, Post teased fans with the track and people can’t wait.

Well, there you have it. New hair and a new song, what else does the future hold for our newly short-haired friend?
