Selena Gomez’ Mum Hospitalised After Finding Out She’s Back With Justin Bieber

It could be a tense Christmas this year for the Gomez family, with Selena’s mum Mandy Teefey not exactly cracking open the champagne over her daughter’s reconciliation with Justin Bieber.

The mum and daughter reportedly had a ‘heated’ discussion about Selena’s choice of boyfriend, which is totally relatable. As all girls know, no man will ever be good enough for you in the eyes of your parents and Mandy is clearly no exception.

25-year-old Selena received a kidney transplant in the summer of 2017 and its completely natural her mum would want to protect her even more fiercely from any potential heartache.

It appears Mandy hadn’t twigged just how serious Selena is about reconnecting with the 23-year-old singer, and the shock was just too much.

According to TMZ, Mandy completely freaked out when Selena revealed she and Justin Bieber were attending couple’s therapy – a clear indication they mean to be in it for the long run.

Law Enforcement Services informed TMZ how police carried out a welfare check on Mandy last week at an LA based hotel. The check was requested by a family member and the worried mum was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It has been reported Mandy is now giving her daughter the space she needs to think things over. However, it appears the family really aren’t thrilled at the prospect of having Justin around for cosy movie nights…

This isn’t the first time Selena Gomez‘s family have expressed concerns about her romance with the Canadian pop star.

Back in October, an unnamed family member told TMZ:

Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us. As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her, it is disrespectful to herself.

Some members of Selena’s family believe Justin behaved poorly towards her throughout the original epic saga of their on-off relationship. Some have even suggested his behaviour drove her to go to rehab for depression.

However, it seems Justin’s fam view the relationship in a much different light.

In a recent interview with People, Justin’s mum Pattie Mallette heaped high praise on Selena, who she says helps keeps her son ‘grounded’:

I don’t know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn’t share a whole lot, but I love her.

I support anything [he does], if he loves her I love her, and I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious. I can’t really speak on their relationship, that’s between them.

She added:

I think anyone with real love in their life is more grounded.

I think there’s so much confusion sometimes and facade in this Hollywood world, and so it’s important for us to find the ones that truly care and stick with them.

Since getting back together, the young people appear very close and happy; attending church together, riding bikes and generally being incredibly cute.

They were recently spotted kissing passionately at one of Justin’s ice hockey games – much to the delight of Jelena fans everywhere. Some fans are even speculating it won’t be long until we are hearing wedding bells.

However, it looks like there is one very important lady Justin still needs to win round before the fairytale ending can unfold, and I don’t think this will be an easy task…
