Now, SpongeBob Squarepants and Slipknot aren’t two entities you would immediately place together, but lead singer Corey Taylor’s strong, distinctive vocals are actually perfect when paired with the classic theme tune.
Footage from a 2011 Corey Mother Fucking Taylor (CMFT) gig has been making the rounds on the internet once again, and no matter what kind of mood you’re in, you will not be able to stop yourself from singing along.
While performing at The Social Club in Orlando, Florida, Corey is chatting with his audience and joking around. He tells them he’s going to play a few ‘fun ones’ and suggestions are shouted.
One suggestion in particular catches him by complete surprise, leading him to exclaim, ‘you want that one?’

The suggestion of course was that great sea shanty, SpongeBob Squarepants Theme. A clam-tastic choice.
There’s just something about the joyous way Corey belts out his tribute to the loveable, porous sponge which really warms the cockles.
The audience are singing along too and it’s clearly one of those gigs where everyone is on the same page, having a genuinely fun time while not taking themselves too seriously.
Like a true SpongeBob fan, Corey knows all the words and clearly knows exactly who lives in a pineapple under the sea. Check out the beautiful moment below:
