Snoop Dogg is going to be honoured with a star of his very own on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The ‘Gin and Juice’ rapper has been a pillar of the rap scene for a quarter of a century, with 18 studio albums to his name, including his debut Doggystyle, which was released 25 years ago this month.

So in short it’s about time this member of West Coast rap royalty was shown the respect he deserves – I mean if Donald Trump can have a star without offering the world anything of note, then this is long overdue!

As per the confirmation on the Walk of Fame website, Snoop will see his name revealed Monday, November 19.

His star will be located at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard, right in front of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Dr, Dre, Quincy Jones and Jimmy Kimmel will all be there alongside the man of the hour to witness his name being further etched into history, with Snoop accompanied by his wife Shante Broadus. The star itself will be revealed by President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Emcee Leron Gubler.

Don’t worry if Hollywood Boulevard isn’t on your commute – fans around the world can watch at www.walkoffame.com.

Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said:

Snoop Dogg is one of those people who can do anything. He raps, he acts, he hosts a television show, he cooks, and helps community kids with his philanthropic work.

He is a man of the ages and we welcome him to our Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Ana certainly isn’t wrong, Snoop has brought a lot to the table in many fields and his charity work certainly should be recognised – he established the Snoop Youth Football League in 2005 – however the multi-talented artist will be honoured in the recording category, setting him up perfectly to start his Puff Puff Pass Tour just five days later.

Congratulations Snoop – now if you could just crack on with doing some voiceovers for David Attenborough’s latest nature doc, Dynasties, I and the internet would thank you.
