Hip Hop icon Snoop Dogg has shared a rare story about his first ever blunt and who he smoked it with.
Even for casual hip hop heads the link between Snoop Dogg and ‘Mary Jane’ is pretty synonymous, however what many people might not know is who Snoop actually had his first smoke with.
Now, in case you are unaware, a bog-standard joint and a blunt are two totally different things, and the game changed for Snoop after he was introduced to the latter…
For many the first time smoking a blunt would’ve been at a really grotty house party or in a smoke filled cafe in Amsterdam, but the LA Legend – real name Calvin Broadus – had his first blunt with fellow hip hop legend Bushwick Bill of The Geto Boyz.
For those of you who don’t know the who the hell Bushwick Bill or The Geto Boyz are might we suggest this catchy little tune from the Huston rap outfit, which you most likely heard on the GTA V soundtrack.
Speaking to the ‘Human Serviette’ Nardwuar (aka the best music journalist on YouTube) he revealed that the Houston rapper:
… was the first person to smoke a blunt with me. He was the first person to actually split open a Phillies and gut it and then… fill it back up with chronic and smoke it with us. We had never seen that before.
It’s another cool anecdotal insight into the life of Snoop, who’s also inducting friend and former label mate Tupac Shakur into this year’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Before Tupac died in in 1996, him and Snoop struck up a close friendship, with the two eventually collaborating on 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted on his classic double disc album All Eyez On Me.
