Police accusing rappers of gang violence isn’t exactly a new phenomenon, but it’s pretty rare that the cops out-and-out try and connect a couple of high profile musicians to actual killings.
The revelations have come to light following the conviction of former drug kingpins Anthony and Harvey Christian, who were found guilty last year of running a major drug empire for two decades in Staten Island and ordering the murder of Jerome ‘Boo Boo’ Estella in 1999.
Anthony Christian’s lawyer Michael Gold has now requested that all police files related to the murder be released, which revealed that the FBI were, at one time, investigating Wu-Tang Clan’s involvement in those murders.
Apparently, the documents reveal the two dealers may have been marked for death in part because they robbed family members of the famous collective’s founding members, RZA and Raekwon.
The documents were first reported by the Staten Island Advance on Tuesday, and excerpts taken from interviews with a police informant named Brian Humphreys, the man who actually shot Estella, show that he suggested the late drug dealer had robbed RZA’s relative, as did the second murdered dealer Corey ‘Shank Bank’ Brooker.

The excerpt reportedly reads:
A couple of weeks before the Boo Boo shooting, Uncles [the street name of drug supplier-turned-informant Paul Ford] told Humphreys about a Blood named Boo Boo who just came home from jail. He stated that Boo Boo had robbed RZA’s little brother and had also gotten into something with the Christian brothers. Uncles was talking about Boo Boo and said that he had just come home and robbed RZA’s brother and that they would likely come after him for that. Humphreys believes Uncles was referring to members of Wu-Tang.
The filing later goes on to say that Ford specifically accused RZA of issuing a $30,000 contract for Brooker’s murder, leading to the official FBI investigation.
The whole thing is pretty nuts and, considering that in 2012 it was revealed that the FBI also accused Ol’ Dirty Bastard (ODB) of being involved in Estrella’s murder, it doesn’t seem like the cops were overly fond of the Wu-Tang Clan boys!
