After the Spice Girls posed for a reunion snap earlier this week, it looks like we are finally getting the comeback tour we want and need!
As Baby, Sporty, Scary, Ginger and Posh once sang, friendship never ends and the gang are finally back together getting ready for a reunion tour.
Rumours of a reunion circulated earlier this week after pictures circulated of Mel B, Mel C, Emma arriving at Geri Halliwell’s house, though Posh was nowhere to be seen.
Thankfully Victoria Beckham posted a picture online with the five together, saying she was ‘excited’:
It is still not clear what the reunion photo means for the Spice Girls but according to TMZ the meeting was to start planning for a tour.
The gossip website reported:
Sources connected to the women tell us the meeting was for ‘rough planning’ and the goal is a world tour that will kick off in late summer.
Our sources say the plan now is for the group to hit the stage in England first and then migrate over to the US.
There is NO plan for a Vegas residency and no plan to record new music.
No surprise… we’re told everyone but Victoria was down for the reunion for a long time, but she has now come around and is ‘fully on board’.
Simon Fuller, who made a lifetime’s worth of loot as the creator of American Idol, will manage the group during the tour. Our sources say he’s organising the tour because he enjoys the girls and the group.
One more thing… we’re told they’re working on ‘merchandising opportunities’ connected with the tour.
The planning is still in the early stages, but everyone is fully committed and the tour is going to happen.
A reunion tour AND new merchandise so I can dress up like my idol Posh Spice – well now that is something to be excited about!
Although Posh has signed up for the tour, sadly there are suggestions being made that she won’t be singing in case it harms her fashion business.
A source close to the band told The Sun:
This is the pop reunion no one thought would ever happen again. But after a long period of negotiation Victoria agreed the time is right to work on new projects this near.
It’s very exciting because she has always been adamant she wouldn’t go back…
Victoria and Geri agreed it would be impossible to be part of a fully-fledged tour because of family and business commitment.
Now that she’s a top designer Victoria is concerned about singing but she wants to make money to pump back into her business.
Considering the upcoming tour could earn each Spice girl up to £10 million each, that is a lot of money Posh could put into her fashion business.
The group are also reportedly considering TV projects in China as well as a new show over on British soil, plus a greatest hits album bringing all their best bangers to one disc.
Geri has been trying to get everybody back together for some time, saying:
I really pushed to get everyone back together. It got to the point where I had to let it go. I still love the girls and there are other bits and bobs in the pipeline.
I honestly can’t wait for the band to spice up my life again!
