Taylor Swift threw some major shade Kanye West’s way at last night’s Grammys.

While accepting the album of the year award for 1989, T-swift took the opportunity during her acceptance speech to have a not so subtle dig at Kanye.

Taking the time to address all the young girls she has inspired, Taylor made an impassioned defence of hard work, saying that you shouldn’t let other people steal your success.

She said:

There are going to be people along the way who will try undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments, or your fame.

You can almost hear the venom in her words, and many think she was talking about Kanye – surprise, surprise – who in his usual self aggrandising style has a lyric on his new album about Taylor that claims: ‘I made that bitch famous.’

Kanye claimed earlier that he’d spoken to the singer on the phone about the line and she was cool with it. Turns out she’s not.

This isn’t the first time Kanye and Taylor have had a disagreement. At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards West, in typical bufoonish style, came up on stage and took the microphone from Swift while she was accepting the Best Female Video award to proclaim: “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, Imma let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time…one of the best videos of all time!”

He was then, understandably, booed off stage.
