‘One nation under God; indivisible with liberty and justice for all.’
That was the message Lady Gaga delivered to millions of Little Monsters with her Superbowl Halftime show last night as the Atlanta Falcons took on the New England Patriots in a record-breaking game.
Gaga performed the best of her discography, proving that she can hold’em like they do in Texas, with an intergalactic aesthetic that showcased the best of live events technology and the powerful message of inclusivity that is so uniquely Gaga.
Gaga promised to give viewers a hundred million reasons to make us all feel happy, and according to Twitter she delivered.
In fact, Gaga broke an NFL record by becoming the most tweeted-about SuperBowl performer ever, with over 5.1 million tweets during her performance.
Of the 5 million tweets, some of her supporters came out to show her love for her, including the world’s favourite meme, Joe Biden.
Katy Perry, whose halftime left shark will go down in GIF-story also paid her respects to Gaga for a flawlessly crowd-pleasing show and the 30-year-old’s impeccable vocal.
Other musical greats congratulated Gaga, including Tony Bennett and Ringo Starr.
Members of the LGBTQ community also came out in force to praise Gaga for her fearless representation of diversity in the face of political upheaval.
Always one to get to the heart of the matter, Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston came full circle with his tweet which took the chance to jab at the Patriots.
Speaking to Radio Disney last year, Gaga said:
I want every guy’s girlfriend in his arms; I want every husband and wife kissing; every kid laughing.
In my mind they’re having this really powerful family experience watching the Super Bowl.
Her 12-minute medley, featuring reams of Gaga’s chart hits such as Bad Romance, Born This Way, Million Reasons and Poker Face, certainly roused the crowds at home and in Houston.
Moments after her performance, Lady Gaga announced the Joanna World Tour…
So there’s more where that came from for all the excited Little Monsters.
