If you love musically inept celebrities butchering hip hop, then this is your lucky day.
Following in the footsteps as such vacuous luminaries as Kylie Jenner, Victoria Beckham’s long-buried foray into the world of rap has been leaked online.
Back in 2003 Victoria had a brief besty moment with Roc-A-Fella co-founder and hip hop legend Damon Dash. They collaborated on a fashion line and – it turns out – also made some music together, according to The Mirror.
Then last month the demo disc found its way onto eBay, and subsequently on to YouTube and SoundCloud.
Come Together is a hip hop album in the loosest sense of the word, a truer description would be it’s just plain awful pop music – put it this way, it’s easy to see why it was shelved.
Incredibly, it includes collaborations with Ol’ Dirty Bastard and M.O.P, who were presumably desperate for money back in 2003.
Damon Dash has previously spoken out about the album, telling the Evening Standard:
Because Victoria’s record company aren’t happy about the fact that she came over to New York to work with me they are putting out stories. Before anyone’s even heard the album they were making things up.
I heard a story that Victoria was calling herself the female Eminem. That’s just dumb. She never said that. I’m going to open Roc-a-Fella Records in London. I’ll show these Telstar cats how it’s done.
RIP hip hop, you had a good run, mate…
