West Coast rapper Murs has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest rap marathon by rapping for 26 hours straight.

The 38-year-old rapped his way through just about every mid 1980s and 1990s rap classic in the book, showing off an impressive mix of endurance and style, reports xxlmag.com.

Throughout his epic marathon, Murs brilliantly mimicked legendary rappers as he performed their iconic tunes including incredible versions of A Tribe Called Quest’s Bonita Applebum and Public Enemy’s Fight the Power.

Murs fans will have also recognised a few tunes from his own catalogue as he worked his way through a number of hits including L.A. and God’s Work.

Murs had help from his long time friend and producer Mr. Len, who helped him prepare for the unbelievable record-breaking attempt with a number of six-hour training sessions in the days leading up to the performance.

The entire thing was livestreamed by Twitch with around 361,000 people watching Murs set the new record.

And as for the numbers – Murs rapped roughly eighteen-twenty tracks per hour, meaning he reeled off round about 500 tunes in one sitting – which to be quite frank, is fucking impressive.
