It’s happening guys, it’s really happening. The boys of Westlife are getting back together!
For all the fans who’ve been in constant states of anxiety since the band’s split in 2012, you can finally rest safe in the knowledge the boys will be hitting the stage once more.
There were rumours aplenty about the reasons for their split, including infighting and the classic ‘creative differences’.
However the band’s manager and X-Factor judge, Louis Walsh, has finally confirmed the much-desired-by-everyone-and-not-a-money-grab reunion is definitely on the cards.
He told RSVP Magazine:
A Westlife reunion is definitely going to happen – but I have no idea when. I’m still really good friends with all of the lads…
I was chatting to Mark Feehily last night about the Christmas album he’s bringing out, and it’s amazing. I’d forgotten how talented he is.
I think the reunion will be great, but it’s up to them to decide when they will do it.
However, Louis was less hopeful of the chances of a Boyzone reunion, saying the band were ‘over’ when singer Stephen Gately died.
Louis does however, have high hopes for Irish X-Factor stars Sean and Conor Price, saying they’re the best Irish act to ever be on the singing show.
That aside, keep an eye out for the inevitable Westlife reunion tour dates!
