Riverdale and 90210 star Luke Perry has been rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke.

The 52-year-old actor was taken to hospital after paramedics attended to his home in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, at around 9:40am local time yesterday (February 27).

As reported by TMZ, the local fire department received a call about someone suffering from a stroke.

It is currently unclear what his condition is.

Perry has recently been shooting episodes of Riverdale, in which he currently stars as Archie’s dad, Fred Andrews.

He rose to fame starring as Dylan McKay in the hit teenage drama Beverly Hills, 90210, which aired from 1990 to 2000.

Coincidentally, yesterday Fox announced they would be rebooting the show, 19 years after the original run ended.

In a press release, the studio revealed an ‘event series’ consisting of six episodes is schedule to air this summer.

So far six of the original cast members have signed on for the project, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestly, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling and Gabrielle Carteris.

Perry is currently not due to star in the revival.

In the press release, Fox said fans should expect ‘a big twist’ in the upcoming series writing:

90210 comes with a big twist: Priestley, Garth, Ziering, Carteris, Green and Spelling will play heightened versions of themselves in a brand-new serialszed drama – with a healthy dose of irreverence – that is inspired by their real lives and relationships.

Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ reboot up and running.

But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast – whom the whole world watched grow up together – attempts to continue from where they left off?

90210 was a sensation when it originally aired, so we are sure lots of fans will welcome its comeback.

Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, FOX added:

‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ left an indelible impact on pop culture and an entire generation.

Its powerful legacy is an important part of our network’s DNA – bold stories not told anywhere else and bigger-than-life-characters – and we’re honored to bring back the beloved original cast members for 90210.

Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler will write and executive-produce the series, which is due to hit screens this summer.
