FacebookJoe Wilson gave Big Issue seller Daniel Collins a coffee once a week expecting nothing in return.
According to the Daily Record, Joe was left stunned when he discovered that Daniel had decided to return the favour and had bought him breakfast at his favourite cafe.
The heartwarming story has now gone viral after Joe shared it on Facebook and Joe told the Daily Record:
Each week I stop and have a chat with Daniel, give him a couple of quid if I have it, and buy him a coffee from Old Salty’s café, the place I go to for a breakfast.
When I finish I usually take him over another coffee and pay for a few in advance so he can get warmed up when it gets chilly.

On Saturday Joe did the same as usual, but when he went to pay for his breakfast, he was told it had already been paid for – by Daniel.
Joe was told that Daniel had won £20 on a scratch card and decided he was going to pay him back for his kindness.
Joe then went over to Daniel to deliver him a coffee:
His face was an absolute picture. He told me it had made him happy that I’d had a nice surprise and it was his way of showing his appreciation for the coffee and the chats.
FacebookSpeaking to the Daily Record, Daniel said:
Joe is such a nice guy, he comes down every week and always comes over for a chat. He isn’t a rich guy or anything, he is just a brilliant, kind man.
When I made a wee bit extra last week I wanted to do something for him, I told them to say it was a scratch card win because I didn’t want Joe to feel guilty and refuse to accept it.
Daniel ended up on the streets after losing his job as a chef and has been selling the Big Issue for about five years now. He says that thanks to the kindness of people like Joe he is slowly getting himself back on his feet again.
