AP photos In news that sounds more Hollywood than real life, it has emerged that a robot has killed a person at Volkswagen in Germany.
The tragedy occurred at a production plant in Baunatal, Germany, with the 22-year-old member of the team killed after the robot they were setting up grabbed him and pushed him against a metal plate.
Another contractor was present during the time of the incident, but not harmed, according to VW spokesman Heiko Hillwig.
It is thought that human error was actually responsible for the accident, with officials in Germany considering if they have a case to press charges.
