This woman killed a serial killer by accident. Sort of.
The unnamed woman from West Virginia had placed an escort advert online, and got a response, and he turned up at her address.
She sensed straight away that there was something wrong, and the guy, Neal Falls, tried to strangle her.
He put his gun onto the counter so that he could get a better grip of her neck, and during the struggle she managed to grab the gun, and fired it, shooting him once.
He died of his wound, and the escort was taken to hospital with several injuries, including broken vertebrae.
When police investigated, they found a vast collection of weapons, and evidence linking him to other murders.
Lt Steve Cooper of the Charlestown Police Dept said:
He had a machete, shovel, two axes, a bunch of knives, double headed axe, a bulletproof vest, several sets of handcuffs, as well as the firearm used to kill the man.
A list of women’s names was also found in his car.
We have been able to locate most of them and they were all on a website advertising for escort services.
The stuff that we found is so alarming that we want law enforcement across the country to be aware of it.
Falls’ DNA is being entered into the national database, as he is believed to be linked to the murder of several other prostitutes in Chillicothe – a small town just two hours from this incident, where six prostitutes went missing recently, with four turning up dead and two still missing.
The police have determined the woman’s actionns to be justifiable homicide.
