Warning: Breaking Bad Spoilers
AMCActor Aaron Paul has teased his followers and Breaking Bad fans with a cryptic Instagram post.
The last time we saw Paul’s Jesse Pinkman he was making a clean break from a life of cooking up Blue Crystal for a neo-Nazi biker gang and driving off into the midnight horizon. He left his divisive partner Walter White to die a quiet – and some would say dignified – death.
The last episode of Vince Gilligan’s magnum opus left things pretty open-ended for the fate of Jesse Pinkman, a move deliberately designed by its creator.

Now it looks like we may get a glimpse into how Pinkman may have faired pre-Breaking Bad. The actor posted a picture on Instagram standing outside an AMC truck with the caption ‘Good morning old friend.’. For those of you who are unaware AMC is the network which produced and aired all five seasons of Breaking Bad (along with Netflix of course).
Another – and perhaps more plausible theory is Arron Paul is reprising his role as Pinkman for the AMC and Netflix Orignal series Better Call Saul, a spin-off series based on Walter and Jesse’s crooked lawyer Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk). So quite possibly we could be seeing Jesse Pinkman before he got into the methamphetamine business with Walter White.
Character’s who have appeared in Breaking Bad such as Mike Ehrmantraut, Gustavo ‘Gus’ Fring and Tuco Salamanca have all made reoccurring guest appearances on Better Call Saul.
In January 2017 during an interview on The Ellen Show, Paul admitted he wanted to return to his most iconic role to date.
Host Ellen DeGeneres asked Aaron ‘will you be on Better Call Saul?’, to which he replied Aaron replied:
God, I hope so. Maybe I already shot the… They just wrapped up the last season so maybe I could be on it. I would love to be on it.
While the ending to Breaking Bad was near perfect – as well as the belief you should leave things the way they are – the prospect of seeing Paul return as the foul-mouthed meth cook is one which has us very intrigued and excited.
In February, Breaking Bad’s seminal final season was voted the best television season ever, while there are those who’d refute the claim, it’s hard to argue against its stats. With a Metacritic score of 99/100 and a user score of 9.7/10, the season is revered within what is already a critically adored show. Notably beloved episodes include Ozymandias, Granite State and Felina.

AMCOften hard-hitting, tense and emotional Breaking Bad’s fifth season was the perfect closer, we saw Walter’s complete transition from well-intentioned father and husband to full-blown criminal mastermind with dark intentions.
For Jesse, season five was the pinnacle of his downfall as he dealt with love, guilt and his own morality as being key to delivering the purest meth New Mexico, and many neighbouring states had ever seen.
While Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston (Walter White) haven’t worked with each other post-Breaking Bad the two still maintain a good friendship. Paul even turned up for Cranston’s ‘Super Sweet 60 birthday party on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
