Some absolute bastard in France has been arrested after his dog was found buried alive, weighed down with lead and stones and left to die.
Images of the dog caused outrage on social media, and there’s been a petition calling for the owner to be given the maximum sentence for animal cruelty, which could mean two years in jail and a fine of up to 30,000 euros. Double the sentence, and the fine, I say.
The dog was discovered by a man walking his own dog on waste ground. He called emergency services and started rescuing her.
He said on Facebook:
Only her head was visible and it was difficult to see given the amount of earth covering her.
The 21-year-old owner denies burying the French mastiff, claiming it ran away.
But police say the owner’s claims that the dog ran away are ‘not very plausible’, as the dog is over 10-years-old and suffers from arthritis.
What a terrible excuse of a human.
