New evidence has surfaced, suggesting that William Shakespeare was fond of the odd spliff.
South African scientists have used a new method of testing to find cannabis on 400+ year old clay pipes that were recovered from Shakespeare’s garden.
The suggestion is that he was in fact stoned when he wrote at least a few of his plays.
He wrote about weed too, sort of.
In his sonnet number 76, he mentions finding ‘invention in a noted weed’, which could be a reference to finding inspiration through smoking cannabis.
