Aldi is going to start selling three-litre bottles of Prosecco, because, well we all know one standard bottle doesn’t even touch the sides.
The super-size bottle – bigger than a magnum – is known as a jeroboam and costs £39.99.
If that’s not sold it to you, it offers notes of ‘fresh citrus fruits and wisteria flower’ with a ‘refreshing acidity and soft sherbet taste’, sounds delicious.
The 11 per cent premium DOCG Prosecco, which is from Italy’s Veneto region, will be available in all Aldi stores from November 14, just in time to stock up for Christmas – and it’s suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Aldi buyer Mike James told The Drinks Business although the larger bottle seemed ‘counter-intuitive’ given the increased price, people were using these formats to ‘add theatre’ to their celebrations and parties.
@Aldi_Ireland I hope this is true!! And I still won't be sharing my Prosecco ?
