Alec Baldwin has been arrested in New York City, following an altercation with another man about a parking spot.

The 60-year-old actor, known for his roles in Hollywood films such as The Aviator (2004) and The Departed (2006), reportedly argued with the man regarding the parking place located close to 10th street and 5th Avenue.

The dispute reportedly happened just before 2pm in Manhattan’s West Village neighbourhood.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ how the man went to claim the parking place Baldwin had been eyeing for himself.

This reportedly resulted in an argument, which then reportedly led to the Saturday Night Live (SNL) star punching the other man.

Witnesses told TMZ Baldwin could be heard yelling ‘F**k off’ during the argument. Police officers from New York Police Department’s 6th Precinct were called and arrested Baldwin, who reportedly lives in the area where the incident took place.

One eyewitness told Page Six:

He just got into an altercation with someone over a parking [spot], It’s like a scene from ‘Goodfellas.’

Another eyewitness described how Baldwin shouted ‘What do you think you’re doing!’ before yelling ‘Shut the f–k up!’ and reportedly shoving the other man.

A senior law enforcement officer advised The Daily Beast how it is expected he could be charged with assault.

Baldwin was released around 1.30pm (PT) on Friday after being charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment.
