In great news for McMuffin lovers across the U.S, it looks as though McDonald’s are planning a nationwide roll-out of their all-day breakfast menu following a successful trial.
The fast food franchise began testing the idea in April after feedback from customers saying they wanted breakfast items outside of morning hours.
And it seems the results were encouraging because, last week, a memo was sent round to franchisees urging them to prepare for all-day breakfasts – perhaps as soon as October.
Still, although the company has created an “All-Day Breakfast Task Force” (like the A-Team but for hash browns), they were very cautious in the memo, pointing out that the launch is not yet an absolute certainty.
The memo stated:
We want to make it clear that we are not being presumptive that this will launch. But we want to make sure the system is ready to turn quickly and launch all day breakfast should all of you believe and support that direction.
McDonald’s has not yet publicly committed to the action, saying in a statement, “We know your mouth is watering, but there’s no news on this yet”.
The corporation has long resisted all-day breakfast because of perceived operational difficulties, and the move first needs to be approved by committees and franchisees. But, let’s face it, you don’t create an all-day breakfast task force for no reason.
Now we just need McDonald’s to bring the all-day breakfast menu to the UK!
