A video has surfaced of Amber Heard describing a violent fight between herself and her ex-partner Johnny Depp, which allegedly prompted her to leave him.
The video was filmed in 2016, as the actress sat down with her lawyer and Depp’s to give her version of events, as well as other incidents between the pair, as part of their divorce proceedings.
Depp was not present at the interview, and maintains that he never physically harmed her. The video, however, shows Heard describing the alleged altercation, which she says took place at their home in Los Angeles on May 21, 2016.
Depp has filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard, but in a written statement filed last week in order to dismiss it, Heard said she had arranged to meet Depp in order to discuss their relationship, according to the MailOnline.
Heard said she had asked their friends, Raquel Pennington and her husband Josh, to come to the meeting, as Depp was becoming ‘erratic’.
While meeting with Depp, Heard also phoned her friend Io Tillet Wright, who has claimed to have witnessed Depp abusing his ex-wife.
Heard said:
All I remember is him screaming these expletives at my friend Io and telling her that she could have me now, then he put his arm back and he threw the phone as hard as he could at my face.
I said, ‘You hit me.’ I said, ‘John you hit me. Honey you’ve hit me in the eye.’
I start crying and I… he approaches me, grabs my head, takes a fist full of my hair and said, ‘I hit your eye, huh? Let me see where I hit your eye. What if I pull your hair back?
Tillet Wright had reportedly phoned the police while this was going on.
Heard continued:
He is smacking my face, moving my face and he’s got me by the hair and he’s, it’s hard to describe, it’s almost like yanking me from side to side with my hair.
He’s still holding on to my head at this time and he said, I don’t know if he’s trying it grab my face but he’s yelling at me, screaming, see how hard I hit you. I am screaming at the top of my lungs, help, help please help.
After the incident, Heard filed for a restraining order.
The description of the alleged attack comes as part of a number of documents given to the court in an effort to dismiss Depp’s $50 million lawsuit against Heard for defamation.
