If you’re a fan of a big old breakfast with a side of pancakes, you’re in luck, because American diner Denny’s is coming to the UK.
Denny’s is probably most famous for its enormous breakfast ‘Slams’ and syrup-drenched pancakes, but it’s also well known for its burgers, grilled sandwiches, omelettes and skillets.
Put it this way, people are pretty damn excited about this announcement.
According to WhichFranchise.com, Denny’s is looking for Area Licensees in the UK to bring the same ‘high quality, high value and extraordinary customer service to England, Scotland, North Ireland and Wales’.
Very few details have so far been made public, but Denny’s has been teasing food lovers on their social media accounts with images of their famous burgers and coffee, and they have confirmed they will be opening their first UK site in Swansea, south Wales, before expanding ‘all over the UK’.
There has been no opening date revealed but it will be opening at the city’s Parc Tawe retail park, ‘just after Christmas’ – and they have asked fans to ‘keep their eyes peeled’ for more news, which they’ll release on their social media accounts.
Denny’s operates more than 2,100 restaurants across America and eight other countries, including Japan.
The company was founded by Harold Butler and Richard Jezak, who opened Danny’s Donuts in Lakewood, California in 1953.
According to Wales Online, Denny’s say that the experience will be ‘the same’ as their American branches, which hopefully means we can expect a similar menu, and all-day breakfasts.
As you can imagine, the meltdown on Twitter has been as good as ever…
