Questions on the red carpet at award show events tend to be exceedingly dull and generally start and end at “who are you wearing?” or “how does it feel to be nominated?”
Well, it turns out we’re not the only ones who are sick of the stars being asked such mundane questions.
Comedian and actress Amy Poehler – star of Parks and Recreation, Saturday Night Live and just generally all around awesome human being – decided to change things up at this year’s Emmy Awards.
Last night, Poehler’s Smart Girls Organisation took to the star studded red carpet armed with much more creative questions than the norm.
The intelligent questions came via Twitter on the hashtag #SmartGirlsAsk and it meant celebrities were instead grilled on topics such as their favourite female leads, best books and career advice.
Much more fun!
And Poehler says she was delighted by the response to the campaign, adding, “I’m happy to let fans ask interesting questions to interesting people.”
