The temperature has fallen and the nights are getting longer; it’s time to admit winter is on its way. Luckily, winter brings Christmas, and this year, it also brings a 24/7 Christmas movie channel.
Christmas movies are one of the best things about the festive season. Curling up on the sofa with a box of chocolates – which were meant to last until Christmas Day (oh well) – and turning on a film which officially signals Christmas is everything!
Love Actually is a fan favourite, along with The Holiday, Elf, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas, but sometimes you just have to rely on the TV scheduling gods for your opportunity to watch them.
Well, now you won’t be scrolling and searching for your favourite Christmas movies, because they’ll all be lined up for you in one place, rolling all day, every day on True Christmas, a channel dedicated to all things festive.
The channel will launch on September 24, ensuring the few chilly months left we have until Christmas finally rolls around, and Christmas Day and Boxing Day and every other day which can be spent comfortably on the sofa with no worries of having to disturb your food baby to find the remote and switch channels.
It sounds like absolute heaven.
According to Metro, True Christmas will show both classic and recent Christmas movies right through until the beginning of January, making sure you can both finish and start the year with some real entertainment, while clinging on to the happy season for as long as possible.
The channel have announced three of the movies they’ll be showing to start us getting into the Christmas spirit – The March Sisters at Christmas, Christmas Oranges, and Wish for Christmas.
Have I mentioned the channel will be about Christmas?
Fans of holiday movies can’t wait for the channel to launch this year, and many have been sharing their excitement on social media.
One Twitter user wrote:
Can’t wait for the christmas movie channel to start
Another added:
I can’t wait until the Christmas movie channel comes back on
Hopefully the channel will distract us from all of the miserable, rainy months we have left before our days are filled with pigs in blankets and advent calendars!
True Christmas will be available on Freeview 62, Sky 319, Virgin 424 and Freesat 302.
Bring on Christmas!
