Just after legendary couple Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne hit the rocks another celebrity marriage has come to an end.
According to The Huffington Post James McAvoy and his wife Anne-Marie Duff have announced that they’re to separate after being married for almost a decade.
The couple, who have one son, met on the set of Shameless where they played Steve McBride and Fiona Gallagher but now they’re getting divorced.
In a statement made late yesterday the couple said:
It is with tremendous sadness that we have come to the decision to divorce.
We enter this next phase with continued friendship, love and respect for one another and the shared focus of caring for our son.
We ask that you respect our and, most importantly, our child’s privacy during this time.
The Mirror reports that the pair’s marriage has been shaky for a while now and that they’ve only been staying together for their five-year-old son Brendan.
This is despite the Scottish actor previously saying that his wife was his ‘best buddy’ and regularly crediting her with his success.
Now McAvoy’s being linked with his X-Men:Apocalypse co-star Alexandra Shipp, who plays a young Storm in the latest X-Men installment.
A source told the paper:
It’s no great secret how they’ve got close… James has been quite open among the cast and crew that his marriage was over, and it seems he has struck up a friendship with Alex since then.
Both McAvoy and Shipp apparently grew close during the shooting of the latest X-Men film and are believed to be returning for the next installment The New Mutants.
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
