Apple may soon be ditching the much hated 16GB iPhone in favour of starting their memory at 32GB instead. Our prayers have been answered.
As someone with a 16GB iPhone, I’ve experienced firsthand just how annoying it can be when you can’t put any music on your phone because you have too many photos – or vice versa.
We take more photos and videos than ever, apps are bigger, and we watch and listen to more media offline than ever before. The current 16GB model just isn’t enough storage space for even the most basic tasks anymore.
But if recent reports are to be believed, it may not be a problem anymore.
The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that Apple’s next iPhone, which is due out this fall, will start at 32GB instead of the much-loathed 16GB model we’ve come to hate.
According to the WSJ’s source, the next iPhone will come in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB models, which is likely due to the expected camera improvements.
While there’s a few new model features we have mixed feelings about – like losing the headphone jack – we’re pretty sure that no one will miss the 16GB iPhone. In fact, it’s pretty likely we’ll all be ready to throw ours out the window as soon as the new lineup comes out.
But, of course, like with all iPhone rumours, we won’t know for sure until Apple unveils the device, which will likely be in September.
If one rumour could be true though, please let it be this. We’re all ready to say goodbye to the wretched 16GB iPhone.
