Ariana Grande Has A Defiant Response To The London Terror Attack

Ariana Grande has a defiant message following the ‘horrific’ terror attack which took place in London on Saturday night. 

Seven people have been confirmed dead and 48 people are being treated in hospitals across London after a spate of vicious attacks took place on London Bridge and Borough Market in the capital last night.

Despite this, the One Love Manchester concert – organised by Ariana herself –  is still set to go ahead in a bid to bring everyone together and raise funds for the victim’s families.

Almost weeks ago, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives minutes after her concert had finished at the Manchester arena, killing 22 people, including children.

Ariana Grande and her manager Scooter Braun, are determined the fundraiser event will continue tonight, even though London suffered more atrocities last night.

He said:

After the events last night in London, and those in Manchester just two weeks ago, we feel a sense of responsibility to honour those lost, injured and affected. We plan to honour them with courage, bravery and defiance in the face of fear.

Today’s One Love Manchester benefit concert will not only continue, but will do so with greater purpose. We must not be afraid, and in tribute to all those affected here and around the world, we will bring our voices together and sing loudly.

I am pleased to say we have the full support of the Greater Manchester police and the government and are assured the safety of all those attending is the highest priority. All artists involved have been unwavering in their support this morning and are determined to carry on with the show.

We ask the strong city of Manchester and the world to join us in making the statement that hatred and fear will never win. Today we stand together. Thank you.

And in arguably even better news, there is a huge surprise on the set list as Oasis seem to have appaeared as if from thin air to play Don’t Look Back In Anger on a supposed set list doing the rounds on Twitter…

With Liam Gallagher playing a gig in Germany, it seems maybe it’s just a cover version or Noel has come back to Manchester to play the song.

Either way, it’s going to be a fantastic and emotional night.

Greater Manchester Police also offered their condolences and messages of sympathy and support upon hearing about the depraved attack which shook London last night.

Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan said:

We’re deeply saddened to hear about last night’s horrific attacks in London and our thoughts are with everyone affected, including the emergency services responding to the incident.

There are two large-scale events taking place in Greater Manchester today and we would like to assure people that these will still take place, but with additional security in place to ensure the safety of everyone.

We have dedicated resources at both events, with a significant number of officers from both GMP and colleagues from other forces, some of which will be armed.

There will be additional security checks taking place and everyone will be searched, including bags. We would ask people not to bring bags if they can, as this will help speed up entry

I’d like to remind that the threat level remains at severe, which means an attack is highly likely.

The 23-year-old singer will be joined by Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Bieber, Take That, Niall Horan, Usher, Little Mix, Robbie Williams and Pharrell Williams for the fundraising event at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
