More than £2 million was raised in just three hours during last night’s One Love Manchester concert.
The benefit concert was organised by Ariana Grande to raise money for those affected by the terror attack which happened after her Manchester show two weeks ago, leaving 22 people dead and more than 100 injured.
Artists in the star-studded line-up included Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher and Black Eyed Peas who took to the stage at Old Trafford cricket ground to play in support of the victims and their families.
The BBC reports concert organisers confirmed more than £2 million was raised, taking the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund’s total to more than a staggering £10 million.
Ariana, 23, postponed the remainder of her Dangerous Woman Tour in the wake of the Manchester attack, flying home the day after and promising to return for a benefit concert in the city.
Ticketmaster sold tickets to the event at £40 – with those who were at the Manchester concert invited for free.
On Saturday, Ariana announced she is re-releasing her song ‘One Last Time’, with proceeds going towards the campaign.
Ariana addressed the crowd throughout the concert at one point saying:
I love you guys so much, and I think that the kind of love and unity that you’re displaying is the medicine that the world really needs right now.
We love you, Manchester!
