20th Century Fox have shared the first trailer for the Assassin’s Creed movie, starring Michael Fassbender.
Based on Ubisoft’s popular free running open world stealth/action game, the Assassin’s Creed franchise certainly offers up an interesting concept for a feature length movie or two. Check out the trailer below.
Fassbender plays Callum Lynch, a man abducted by a shady crew who use a device called the Animus so that Lynch can inhabit the mind (and memories) of his ancestor – who just so happens to be an assassin living in 15th century Spain. It’s batshit crazy, but a great idea.
The film is directed by Justin Kurzel, who directed the critically acclaimed 2015 adaptation of Macbeth. Marion Cotillard, Brendan Gleeson, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Jeremy Irons all make an appearance alongside Fassbender.
We’ve also got a pretty cool new poster too, which you can see below.
Finally, we have some shiny new images to pore over too.
Guess which picture is actually a behind the scenes shot, and win a prize.
We’ve got a great cast, a solid director, and a good premise. Hopefully Assassin’s Creed can deliver the goods when it hits cinemas in December.
