Paul_Feger/TwitterAt least three people have died as a van ploughed into pedestrians in Münster, Germany leaving 30 others injured.
Local police have confirmed the deaths and injuries asking people to avoid the area.
The vehicle collided with pedestrians around the Kiepenkerl statue in the old town near the restuarant Grosser Kiepenker.

In a tweet, the local police force confirmed they were attending the scene writing:
There are deaths and injuries. Please avoid the area.
Please also leave the inner city area so that the rescue workers can work in peace. We are on site.
The situation is confusing. Please don’t speculate. Please no rumours and information. With that you support us.
It is currently unclear if the incident is terror related.

As written by Spiegel Online, police have reported the suspect shot himself dead following the incident.
Investigators are currently looking for explosives.
