@msmaplefever/InstagramPorn star August Ames did not mention the offensive comments she received online prior to her death in her suicide note.
The adult entertainer, 23, was discovered in a public car park early Tuesday morning, having left a note in her car.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s report found that Ames apologised to her family but didn’t mention the cyberbullying that was believed to have been a contributing factor in her death, The Blast says.
She had previously been embroiled in a Twitter debate after saying she had refused to sleep with a fellow porn actor because he’d done scenes with other men.
Ames – real name Mercedes Grabowski – was slated as ‘homophobic’ and told by one user to ‘take a cyanide pill’.
Her husband, porn director Kevin Moore described August as ‘the kindest person I ever knew’ and that ‘she meant the world to me.’
In the weeks leading up to her passing, she revealed in a podcast:
It’s just awful. It’s still recent where I have to keep myself occupied or else I start thinking about all s**t and then I fall into depression.
Some days I’ll be fine and if I’m not doing anything I’ll get these awful flashbacks of my childhood and I get very depressed and I can’t get out of bed and cancel scenes for like a week or two.
She added:
I would get in contact with some people and then I would feel badly because they’d be like: ‘What’s your profession?’ and I’d be like: ‘Oh, I’m in the adult industry.’
Then I’d feel like they’re like: ‘Oh, that’s the whole reason that you are the way you are’ and then I’d get turned off.
What a tragic turn of events this has been.
