When one schoolgirl started choking on an apple in the middle of lunch, her classmate jumped to the rescue.
Now while that would be a pretty incredible story anyway, the fact that the hero of the hour, Brandon Williams, is autistic makes it that bit more special.
Brandon ran towards Jessica Pellegrino, wrapped his arms around her midsection, and thrust her diaphragm so that the apple would dislodge and be spat out.
He was asked how he knew what to do, and amazingly replied:
Learned it on SpongeBob.
His dad, Anthony, added:
He picks up on things that most of us would miss, and files it all away in his head, and he can recall it all in an instant.
That’s how he knew instantly what to do. And we’re glad he did. We’re proud of him.
Absolutely amazing stuff.
