The baby’s mother, a single 18-year-old, had left the infant with her mother while she attended a party for just two hours in nearby Otumba.
When she returned it was Lizbeth Jeronima Fuentes Munguia who made the grim discovery that her daughter needed urgent medical attention.

The child’s young mother and grandmother have both reportedly been arrested on suspicion of neglect, although charges are yet to be confirmed.
The Daily Mail has reported that the charges will depend on the result of an autopsy.
