It’s the stuff of comic book fans’ dreams – DC Comics and IDW Publishing are joining forces to release a Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover comic later this year.
The exciting news was revealed during a panel at San Diego Comic Con yesterday.
The new mini-series will see Krang transport the Turtles and Shredder to Gotham City in his latest attempt to finally see the back of them. And, of course, the Turtles meet up with Batman and a whole host of Gotham villains in their quest to return home.
The new series will be written by James Tynion IV (Batman Eternal) and drawn by Freddie E. Williams II (Robin). TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman and other artists will be providing variant covers too.
In an official IDW release, Tynion said:
I’ve been extremely lucky to spend so much time working in Gotham City, but it’s always a thrill to see the world of Batman through new eyes. Taking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on a Gotham adventure is a fanboy dream come true.
The first issue of Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is due for release in November and we can’t wait! Hopefully we get a crossover movie next – just an idea, Ben Affleck.
