A new report suggests that a closed alpha for Battlefield 1 could kick off sometime this week.
GameSpot referenced an unannounced incoming multiplayer test in an E3 gameplay preview that was recently published to their site.
They wrote:
DICE still hasn’t clarified how often the weather effects will occur: whatever algorithm that controls their frequency is unclear. And I’ve only spent an hour in the maps that will be available in the game’s closed alpha next week, so I can’t say whether this unpredictability will become rote as I play more of the multiplayer shooter.
EA has yet to announce anything regarding a closed alpha for Battlefield 1, or reveal how players would be able to get involved, so there’s a very good chance that this is simply a misunderstanding of some kind.
However, we can be sure that a beta test will be taking place before the game launches in October, with fans who sign up to the Battlefield Insider service offered early access.
But if you just can’t wait for even more WWI shooter action, a ton of gameplay footage has been finding its way online recently.
Hazard Clan has shared hours of pre alpha footage, which you can pore over just below. Alternatively, you can educate yourself on all the maps and modes confirmed for Battlefield 1 so far.
