Rebekah Marine, who was born without a right fore-arm, has had to endure years of rejection from modelling agencies for her disability. Now, the 28 year old from Woodbury, New Jersey is set to walk the runway at the FTL Moda show on 13 September.

She will be sporting her i-limb quantum prosthetic hand – which was made with advanced gesture control technology – which she credits with giving her a new-found confidence in her modelling.

She spoke to Mashable about her disability:

Being a model with a disability has been extremely difficult over the past couple years. Agencies often won’t even look at my portfolio. But I’ve come to realize it’s all about finding your niche. I’ve accepted that most clients may not want to work with me based on my ‘disability.’

Above all, I hope to land on the cover of Vogue one day — that’s my personal goal. And I won’t stop until I get there.

Rebekah is an inspiration to all those battling with confidence issues and we wish her all the best at NY fashion week and beyond.
