Beth Chapman, the wife of Duane ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Chapman has been put into a medically induced coma during her ongoing struggle with cancer.

The beloved reality TV personality was first diagnosed with throat cancer in September 2017. Later the same year doctors said she was clear, but it later came back and spread to her lungs.

Chapman and her doting husband made a special programme called Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives, which included 13-hour surgery Beth had to remove a Stage 2 tumour after her initial diagnosis.

However, at the end of 2018 it was revealed that the cancer was incurable and in April 2019 she was taken to hospital with ‘serious breathing issues’.

The family have this weekend confirmed the reality TV star had been put under a coma which was medically-induced on Saturday 22 June, reports Hawaii News Now.

She was admitted to the intensive care unit at Queen’s Medical Center in Hawaii, where she lives with her family.

Duane has since called on the couple’s supporters to ‘say your prayers for Beth right now’. He also sent ‘sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth’s battle with cancer’.

After 16 years together, they married on May 20 2006 at a Hilton hotel in Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Beth runs the bail bonds office and partakes in business alongside her husband, often going bounty hunting and counselling the detainees.

The pair to fame at the helm of the eponymous TV show – the long-running Dog’s Most Wanted – in which they track down criminals with the help of their extended family, as well as Dog & Beth On The Hunt and nine seasons of Dog The Bounty Hunter.

Beth, born to an Italian American family in Colorado as Alice Elizabeth “Beth” Barmore (née Smith), splits her time on the show between their new home in Hawaii and Denver, where she was raised.

Considered by some as one of the greatest bounty hunters in the world, Duane has made more than 10,000 captures in his 40 year career, with Beth at his side.

Earlier this year it was announced Dog and Beth would be back on WGN America, entertaining their fans with a new season of Dog’s Most Wanted.

Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
