This is the moment a young boy born with only half a skull tells his mum he loves her for the first time.

We recently reported the inspirational story of Jaxon Emmett Buell, whose nickname is Jaxon Strong, a young lad who was born with an extreme birth defect called Microhydranencephaly, in which the brain and skull don’t form properly.

Jaxon, from Orlando, Florida, became a global hero after his story went viral, and his parents, Brandon and Brittany, have since been inundated with thousands of messages of love and support from people worldwide.

The Buells started a GoFundMe page to help cover Jaxon’s treatment and enable Brittany to stay at home to support him. They wrote on the page:

Ultimately, Jaxon will need a miracle long-term. We continue to ask for support and prayers, as it is a blessing that his Mom continues to stay home with him for constant care.

Jaxon has already shown how strong, smart, and special he is, accomplishing feats that doctors doubted he’d ever be able to do, shows improvements each and every day, and just reached a miraculous milestone in celebrating his first birthday.

And here he is saying ‘I love you’ to his mum:

What a little hero!
