Bradley Lowery’s mum has just shared devastating news for the brave youngster, revealing her son’s cancer is progressing quicker than expected.
The five-year-old Sunderland fan from County Durham is currently receiving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital for neuroblastoma, and his mother, Gemma Lowery has been sharing updates about his condition.
The latest shared the results of an MRI scan confirming Bradley’s cancer has “progressed a lot” and is a great source of pain to Bradley.
Taking to Facebook Gemma wrote:
Bradley has been experiencing a lot of pain over the past few weeks with his legs. Originally we thought it might of been off him doing too much playing (sic).
However he went down for an emergency MRI today and it has been confirmed that his cancer has progressed a lot and this is what is causing the pain.
The consultant is trying to organise radiotherapy on the site to allow us to get to America but we will know more tomorrow.
The devasted mum added, “This is not good news for us and things are moving to fast”.
This news comes just days after Gemma shared pictures of Bradley fighting his cancer bravely in a hospital bed, giving the camera two thumbs up and grinning.
Bradley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2013. He went into remission but his cancer returned in June last year.
Well-wishers have shared messages of support for Bradley after this latest medical development, and donations to the family’s JustGiving page continue to flood in.
Our thoughts are with the Lowrey’s at this time.
