The larger than life contestants of one of Brazil’s most popular competitions shut down the streets of Sao Paulo as they promoted the 2015 edition of ‘Miss Bum Bum’.

Dressed in their traditional green and yellow bikinis and high heels, the models were spotted stomping the curb in Brazil’s financial centre.

Each model did their best to flaunt their stuff and represent their respective state in the competition that is loved by millions in the vast South American country.

It was all part of a campaign to raise awareness for the start of the online voting stage of the competition, in which the public decide which of the 27 women will be allowed to compete in the November final. Only 15 women get through to the final overall.

The winner is awarded a lucrative photoshoot for the cover of a popular men’s magazine, is gifted a significant cash prize and gains celebrity status in their home country. It’s a pretty big deal for all involved.

However, over the years, the competition hasn’t come without controversy, and just last year a scandal in which one contestant bribed the judges went viral on the internet. Indianara Carvalho allegedly paid the judges over £70,000 in total to assure her crown. And she did eventually win, too.
