Bride And Groom Both Die Hours Before Wedding

A couple’s wedding had to be hastily turned into their funeral after both died mere hours before their ceremony.

Luana Alves, 36 and her groom-to-be, 31-year-old Rodrigo Nogueira, were set to be married at 11am yesterday (May 11) in southeast Brazil, as reported by the Metro.

However, hours before the wedding, both were in a car accident as they rushed home to get all their affairs in order in prep for their big day.

Yet the couple would never get to walk down the aisle. Police said their car collided head-on with another as Rodrigo tried to overtake another vehicle on Brazil’s 184 Highway.

It’s been reported Luana died immediately, though Rodrigo died hours later, after being rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

Shocked relatives, who were in town for the wedding, quickly had to begin organising the burial for the couple.

The funeral reportedly took place yesterday afternoon in the same church where they had planned to tie the knot.

The driver of the other vehicle, Joge Rocha, 50, was taken to hospital, but also died of his injuries.

This tragic news comes after a teenager was killed in a car crash mere seconds after taking off her seatbelt in order to take a selfie.

16-year-old Kailee Mills, from Houston, was in a car with three friends driving to a Halloween party on October 28 last year.

Riding in the back seat sat next to her pal, the Klein Collins High School junior pupil decided to take off her seat belt to take a photo with her friends.

Seconds later the car crashed, rolling over and killing Kailee in the process – only 500 yards from her home. Harris County Sheriff’s deputies believe the driver of the car was speeding and lost control.

Flipping over, Kailee was ejected from vehicle. She was the only person not wearing a seat belt. All the other passengers survived.

Kailee’s dad, David Mills, told Fox 35:

The car went off the road. She was ejected and she died instantly. All the other kids in the car, they had their seat belts on and they all survived with very little injury.

Our daughter would be here today if she had been wearing her seat belt.

Deciding people need to be more aware of the issue, Kailee’s parents, David and Wendy, set up the Kailee Mills Foundation, a non-profit organisation which reminds everyone to buckle up.
