Any Game Of Thrones fans will know Tormund’s ‘look’ all too well, but it turns out Kristofer Hivju, who plays the character like to dish out the deep stares between takes as well.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Gwendoline Christie – who plays Brienne – admitted Kristofer behaves the same way towards her as Tormund does whether cameras are rolling or not.
And as for THAT stare, Gwendoline said she had ‘no idea’ that was coming.

Telling Seth what Kristofer is like behind the scenes, she explained:
[The stare is] terrifying isn’t it? He is into me and he likes to continue being in character even off set.
So we’ll be in an easy-up, which is of course a dark tent with a sort of gas heater burning away and he will start chewing a sandwich wildly at me, sort of masticating wildly at me. Really kind of making love to that sandwich as he eyeballs me.
So strong, eyes like lasers pouring right in.
Asked if she finds herself laughing during takes, Gwendoline said:
I mean I’m a classically trained actress – however, this is possibly the one time I dissolve without fail.
No one told me this was going to happen, in the script it simply said ‘Tormund give Brienne a look’. I was not expecting the power, the magnitude, of intense sexual tension to pour out of a man’s eyes and cover me.
If beards on burly men isn’t your thing, go and see what Kristofer looks like without his bristles.
How can anyone resist that stare?
